[vc_row][vc_column width=”1\/1″][vc_custom_heading]At the VII Portuguese Tourism Summit, held in Mafra on September 27th, World Tourism Day, the Rota Vicentina Association received an honorable mention<\/a> for its commitment and contribution to responsible tourism.[\/vc_custom_heading][vc_column_text]In this significant event<\/a>, which focused on the main theme<\/span> “tourism is value”<\/span><\/i>, key figures from the Portuguese tourism sector came together, gathering operators, local and national entities, experts, and associations to discuss new trends and challenges in tourism.<\/span><\/p>\n

During the awards ceremony, the efforts of those who significantly contribute to the sustainable development<\/strong> of tourism<\/strong> in the country were recognized.[\/vc_column_text][vc_custom_heading heading_semantic=”h3″ text_size=”h3″]A decade of commitment to responsible tourism<\/b>[\/vc_custom_heading][vc_column_text]Representing <\/span>Rota Vicentina<\/b> at the ceremony was <\/span>Marta Cabral<\/b><\/a>, the Association’s President, who received the award on behalf of the entire team.<\/span>[\/vc_column_text][vc_row_inner unlock_row_content=”” row_height_percent=”0″ shift_y=”0″ z_index=”0″ back_color=”#67d0e0″][vc_column_inner width=”1\/1″][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n

Receiving this recognition brings us particular satisfaction, as it confirms the value of our work over the past decade.
\nFeeling recognised for being the first to talk about responsible tourism in the region was a very emotional moment.<\/span><\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column_inner][\/vc_row_inner][vc_single_image media=”26239″][\/vc_single_image][vc_column_text]The <\/span>Medal of Tourist Merit <\/b>received in Mafra highlights the importance of sustainable tourism practices and the pioneering role that <\/span>Rota Vicentina<\/b> has played in promoting these values in Southwest Portugal.<\/span>

According to the text published in the Di\u00e1rio da Rep\u00fablica<\/a>, the Medal of Tourist Merit, 2nd degree (silver), is awarded to Rota Vicentina for<\/strong><\/p>\n

By enhancing the outstanding natural resources of the Southwest Alentejo and Vicentina Coast, it has established itself as a model of excellence in tourism development.

\nRota Vicentina has the ability to be a territorial project, in a way regenerative, while having a real impact on tourism. It is one of the few products that effectively mitigate seasonality in the region, promoting Alentejo and Algarve in both the national and, especially, international markets.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
